Bring Us Something Real

For the best demonstration, bring something real: a protocol or workflow you already run, an instrument you are weighing up, or a finding your last auditor raised. We would rather work on your material than walk you through ours, so you can see what Virgil does with yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a demo include?

Thirty minutes, tailored to your domain. Most sessions start with authoring — describing a protocol in natural language and watching a validated workflow assemble from approved building blocks — then move to whichever question matters most to you: modeling it against your equipment to see cost and throughput, walking a run end to end, or examining the compliance record that comes out. Bring a protocol you already run and we will use that rather than a demo script.

We are evaluating an instrument purchase. Can you help before we buy?

That is one of the clearest uses. Fleet Configuration models your laboratory — instruments, people, consumables, shift patterns — and simulates a protocol against different equipment so you can compare cost per run, throughput and where the queue forms. If a required input is missing, Virgil tells you what is missing rather than filling it with a default, which is the point: the figure you take to a finance committee is one you can defend line by line.

Do we have to replace our LIMS, ELN or scheduler?

No, and we would advise against it. Virgil owns no instrument drivers and sits above your control layer, alongside the systems you already run. Workflows export to Tecan GWL, Hamilton VENUS, Opentrons and HL7 FHIR among others. Adoption is additive — the systems you have already validated stay validated.

Can Virgil run on-premises or air-gapped?

Yes, and air-gapped is not a reduced tier. Cloud, on-premises, hybrid and fully air-gapped deployments have identical capabilities. The AI runs locally in every configuration — language model, retrieval and voice included — so no data leaves your environment, which makes Virgil usable in classified and high-security laboratories.

How do you keep AI out of the decisions that have to be human?

By architecture rather than policy. The assistant composes only from building blocks your laboratory has already validated, and there is no code path by which it can emit anything else. Where a judgment belongs to a person — accepting an equipment substitution, adopting a configuration, authorizing a departure — the system blocks until a named person decides, records their stated reason, and captures it under electronic signature. Virgil assists with authoring. It does not decide.

What does the Customer Advisory Board involve? Can I join before becoming a customer?

Hands-on access before general availability and direct work with our engineering team. In exchange we ask for structured feedback on usability, workflow accuracy and how well the system handles your domain’s terminology. Early adopters influence the roadmap and receive preferential terms at launch.
